Pepper Hill Naturals

Full Brand Identity | Logo Design | Website Design | Photo Identity

This is Pepper Hill Naturals, and I’m obsessed with them. Missy Clay founded PHN when her daughter was a baby and allergic to every soap and laundry detergent they tried. With her daughter’s skin breaking out constantly, Missy went down the rabbit hole of natural ingredients, determined to create something better. And Pepper Hill Naturals was born.

The Challenge:

As Pepper Hill started to scale, Missy wanted to elevate the brand, requiring a more polished, luxury aesthetic that could sit on high-end shelves while still feeling rooted in nature and authenticity. The rebrand needed to feel refined and professional without losing the warmth and organic feeling of her original packaging and logo. Pepper Hill Naturals also needed a full design system and brand guidelines to accommodate their growing brand needs.

The Solution:

I led the brand identity redesign, taking a hands-on approach to develop a visual system that:

  • Redesigned the logo to feel premium yet organic, bridging the gap between handmade and high-end, while also weaving in the client’s personal story.

  • Developed a photo identity that leaned into soft, natural textures and warm, inviting light, reinforcing the purity and quality of the ingredients.

  • Refreshed the color palette, typography, and created a graphics suite to bring an elevated feel while maintaining the brand’s approachable, small-batch roots.

My Role: Creative Director, Brand Designer
Web Designer: Rafy Cabrera
Photographer: Emily Wyatt

As Creative Director and Brand Designer, I developed a versatile suite of logos to support Pepper Hill Naturals across packaging, web, and marketing. At the heart of the brand is Missy’s personal story. She named PHN after Pepper Hill, a nostalgic spot on her family farm where she rode horses as a child. To honor that, I created custom illustrations, including a horse and baby colt, symbolizing both her past and the reason she started the brand: her daughter.

To reinforce the natural aesthetic, I designed organic botanical elements and a custom brand pattern for packaging and merch. I also sourced the location, built the shot list, and shaped the direction of the brand photography with our team, capturing light, airy imagery that highlights both the products and Missy’s story. The color palette, inspired by PHN’s signature shampoo bars, carried through to every touchpoint—including the website, where we ensured a seamless blend of branding, storytelling, and e-commerce.
